The AWARD event has become a sell-out experience, attended annually by eight hundred guests, while Circus is one of the leading events in the Australasian advertising calendar.
The Events and Sponsorship Manager from The Communications Council wrote “Congratulations and thank you for working with us to put on a world class event. Everyone is extremely happy. It will be hard to beat”.
With an audience drawn from the creative community, we knew that ‘Circus’ had to be completely fresh and have no parallels to a standard layout. We created a unique exhibition designed from steel mesh, which fitted the CarriageWorks space perfectly, as well as round screens that contrasted beautifully to the black room. In particular, we used long colour lighting tubes and plasmas to reflect the logo surrounding them.
The AWARD Awards include over 150 awards and brings together some of the advertising industry’s finest minds, so we wanted a stunning opener.
We designed and directed an animation that was scaled and timed perfectly to a live dancer’s movements, resulting in a true four-dimensional experience that broke the barrier between the screen and the audience.
For an audience used to innovation and creative excellence, it almost stole the show…their own award winning work of course being the highlight.
The Communications Council engaged us to work as part of the creative team to develop and manage ‘Circus – The Festival of Creativity’ - a three-day experience that explores the latest developments in the world of commercial creativity while celebrating the marketing communications sector’s outstanding work.
The Festival includes a range of international speakers, ‘The Battle of Big Thinking’, masterclasses and culminates in the AWARD Awards – the largest advertising award event in Australasia.
