FFA engaged us to create something spectacular to pay tribute to the qualifying squad including coach Guus Hiddink, stars John Aloisi, Mark Bresciano and the 1965 Socceroos on the 50th anniversary of first FIFA World Cup Qualification campaign.
Equally as important, the FFA also wanted to bid farewell to the departing Chairman Mr. Frank Lowy AC, Deputy Chairman Brian Schwartz AM and long standing board member Phill Wolanski AM.
First we developed an ‘on the pitch’ moment so our guests could experience what it would have been like to be on the field at ANZ Stadium. Guests were greeted by a Uruguayan dance troop and drummers, young freestyle football tricksters, and zorb performers whilst enjoying drinks and canapés. The 2005 Socceroos team was introduced and welcomed to the stage with a spectacular fireworks show.
Guests were then escorted to the Members Dining room to enjoy a decadent three course meal, exciting unseen documentary footage on football history, a very entertaining panel discussion with a rare insight into the lives of the footballers, a memorable speech by Mr Frank Lowy and a moving performance by Tina Arena and the Qantas choir.
Staged throughout ANZ Stadium, FFA with us created a sold out event, bringing over 700 people together including the FFA board members, past and present Socceroos, celebrities and members of the general public, to celebrate these significant moments in Australian sports history.
