Sydney University had an ambition to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Sydney University Great Hall. They came to us to create a once in a lifetime sonnet lumiere for their exclusive guest list. The challenge was to conceive, write, produce and execute an engaging story showcasing the history of the building and the University.
Bringing to life the story of this amazing building was the central inspiration behind the show. Drawing upon all University resources available to us including actors, musicians and singers in the process, made the process intrinsically infused with their spirit. We also worked closely with the Conservatorium of Music to involve a full orchestra and chamber ensemble in the occasion.
This production had it all, including over two hundred performers, a full wardrobe department, horses, angels on rooftops, an Aboriginal smoking ceremony and musical styles from rock to opera to classical symphony. It truly was the result of many talents, inspired and creative people coming together to celebrate an incredible milestone.
The award-winning team of choreographers, directors, musical masters and designers on this landmark event made it one to be remembered for the next one hundred and fifty years. Compliments flowed from all sides of the event process and we were honoured to steer the creative process, manage the logistics on the evening and above all, deliver an exceptional experience to all.
