PO Nautical Nonsense for Nickelodeon

The Challenge

Carnival Cruise Line approached Fourth Wall with the challenge of creating a Family day to celebrate and officially christen the newest addition to the Carnival Fleet of cruise ships - the Pacific Explorer.

Fourth Wall then approached Nickelodeon with the prospect of partnering with Carnival to create an experience using the Nickelodeon brand and entertainment.

The Creation

Three hundred children and junior social media influencers ran rampant across the decks of P&O's new Pacific Explorer cruise ship, while it docked at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney.

This momentous occasion included an official ceremony followed by fun-filled celebrations involving an army of Nickelodeon’s most popular characters and, of course, lots of Nickelodeon’s signature slime.

VIP guests included Sabre Norris and celebrity chef Johnny Di Francesco, with media involvement including regular weather crosses by the Weekend Today TV show.

The Outcome

This was the first time that P&O and Nickelodeon partnered for an event, and for Fourth Wall, it was a great experience to have two of our own long term clients working together to create something really unique.

P&O was able to leverage the social media and broadcasting power of Nickelodeon, to promote the family-friendly and one-of-a-kind experience that P&O are known for, while also unveiling their newest ship.

The event proved extremely successful, for both all the children and families in attendance, as well as for the P&O and Nickelodeon brands.
