Echo Entertainment needed The Star and the Pyrmont precinct to become a destination within Vivid Sydney across eighteen nights, rather than somewhere visitors simply passed through.

Fourth Wall built Mission Control on the roof of The Star, turning it into the largest audience-operated light show in the world, with visitors on the ground controlling more than fifty searchlights directly. Pyrmont Pyro placed fifty drums in the precinct in groups of five, each one triggering fireworks in the tree above when played. A custom Vivid Sky Lounge added live music, interactive games and food from The Star’s restaurants.

Thousands of individual light show videos were shared online across the eighteen nights, and part of the installation was subsequently made permanent on the roof of The Star.
